Post War Britain has a rich history of sub-cultural movements that have inspired and influenced global music, film and wider culture.

These iconic tribes span the 1950s Teddy Boys and tailored 60s Mods, the British origins of Sound System culture and Dance Hall, to the radical rebellion of 1970s Punks, dark Goths, and the rave and indie dance scenes of the late 80s…

This collective youth insurgency has formed the backdrop of Massive Attack’s evolution as a band.

The vinyl series references stolen moments from these sub-cultural tribes – archival stills that are re-contextualised in both cover art and campaigns, for new music, with new collaborators. Over the last ten years, Hingston have worked closely with Robert Del Naja in the art direction and design of this carefully curated series. An ongoing project, the latest release ‘Boots on the Ground’ features singer, Tom Waits.
